Privacy policy
This policy covers the Counta website, the Counta back office, Counta Station and the Dispatcha rider app. It explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are
Counta and Dispatcha are products of Data Druid Tech Services Limited, a company registered in Nigeria. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Each business on Counta decides what it records about its own customers, staff and riders. For that information the business is the data controller and we process it on its behalf. For the accounts of business owners and for visitors to this website, we are the data controller.
What we collect
Business owners and staff: name, email address or phone number, the role given by the business, and a PIN for the counter (stored only as a one-way hash).
Sales and records: orders, receipts, payments, expenses and stock entered by the business. Card and transfer payments are handled by the payment company (Flutterwave or Paystack); we never see or store full card numbers.
Riders using Dispatcha: phone number, a selfie, a photo of an ID document, vehicle details, delivery proof photos, and the phone's location while the rider is on shift or on a delivery. Location is not collected when the rider is off shift.
Customers of a business: the name, phone number and delivery address given when ordering, and the order history.
Devices: the app version, device type and error reports, so we can keep the apps working.
How we use it
To run the service each business signs up for: taking and delivering orders, printing receipts, keeping the books and paying riders. To keep accounts secure, stop fraud and answer support requests. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Where it is kept
On our servers, with each business's records kept apart from every other business's. Data travels over encrypted connections. Sensitive fields such as ID numbers and payment keys are encrypted at rest, and ID photos are kept in private storage that is only opened through short-lived links. Counta Station keeps a copy of the day's sales on the counter device so it can work offline, and sends it to our servers when the internet is back.
Who we share it with
Only the companies that help us run the service: the payment companies, the SMS provider that sends sign-in codes, the push-notification service for the rider app, and our hosting provider. Each gets only what it needs for that job. We share data with the authorities only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
While the business's account is open, and afterwards for as long as Nigerian tax and accounting rules require. Rider ID photos are deleted when the rider asks us to, unless the law requires us to keep them. Sales enquiries from this website are deleted on request.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data held about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, or to object to how it is used. If a business holds your data, ask the business first; we help them answer. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Children
Counta is for businesses and their staff. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data about children.
